Monster Energy Drink Lawsuits Triggers Rebrand From “Supplement” to “Drink”

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Monster Beverage Corporation will officially rebrand their Monster Energy Drink from a “dietary supplement” to a “drink.” Although, a major perk for dietary supplements is that they do not need to conform to the same FDA testing and ingredients standards that a “drink” does, they do need to report all adverse customer reactions to the FDA.

Monster Beverage Corporation has recently been linked to a series of deaths as a result of their Monster Energy Drink products so this shift in re-branding their potentially dangerous product will help to protect them at this time and in the future. This rebrand will also bring about a change in the information that is displayed on the Monster Energy Drink product. As a result, “Supplement Facts” will now be replaced with “Nutrition Facts,” as well as include information on how much caffeine is in the drink.
