The Birth of FITergize™

The idea to create FITergize.com was born out of my own frustration. Even before I became a Certified Fitness Trainer, I was the health expert go-to person for my family, friends, and co-workers. Anyone who knew me knew how passionate and knowledgeable I was about Health, Fitness & Nutrition; and so they would always ask me:

“What can I take to have more energy?”
“Why am I always so tired?”
“How can I get into better shape?”
“What can I take to lose weight?”

Understanding how there isn’t one concrete solution to any of these questions, I decided to create FITergize.com. All that you will find on this unique website is a multitude of solutions that all come together and collaboratively create the most dominant solution to becoming a more motivated and energetic you!

I realize that the entire world wants to have an amazing body, feel incredible, age well and never get sick. The good news is that just by exercising and eating healthy foods you can actually have that amazing body, feel incredible, age slowly, and never get sick.

The first few weeks or months of making positive changes can be frustrating and draining when results are not yet visible to show for your hard work so losing the motivation and energy to continue on is what I believe to be the root of failure. It is only those who have the “Motivation” and “Energy” to do the exercising and eat the healthy foods that will reap its many rewards.

Finding the motivation and energy is the first step towards accomplishing these goals or any other. Your goal could be as significant as climbing Mount Everest or as simple as getting out of bed in the morning and making an energizing breakfast for yourself. No matter the size of your goals, they are yours and they deserve all of your motivation and energy. This is where FITergize™ can help you.

I began this website with every intention to counter all of the mixed information in the magazines, on TV, and all other media outlets.

Whenever I would see gimmicky advertisements for diet pills, energy drinks, late night infomercial gadgets, and off the wall diet claims, I envisioned creating a resource platform that was less focused on body image & lies and more focused on constructing an environment that offered just the opposite – one that was:

About Rob

Rob HornMy name is Rob Horn and I’m from Staten Island, New York. I have been living the health & fitness lifestyle for 15 years, with no end it sight. I love to look and feel fit and energized and my favorite form of workout is weight lifting because it is by far the most supreme muscle building workout one can have. I have always been fascinated with the study of physical fitness, the physical form, and muscle definition.

I enjoy reading about anything that is health, fitness, psychology & nutrition related and when I’m not reading about such topics I’m likely to be writing about them. I also enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, my family, friends, and watching movies. I enjoy traveling because I love to get away of course but also because I like to visit different parts of the world to see the many diverse ways of life.

I am certified by the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) as a Certified Fitness Trainer. This certification is the most prestigious in the industry and it qualifies me to work with virtually any individual wishing to improve their health & fitness. I’ve been a trainer since 2004 and I have abundant in-depth experience in nutritional planning as well as with virtually every form of exercise, but most say that my greatest quality is my ability to motivate and inspire.

I have also completed coursework in Wellness Coaching, Muscle Fiber Type Training, and Nutrition Design. Additionally, every 2 years I complete 20 Continuing Education Credits for the renewal of my Fitness Trainer Certification. This is one of the many qualities that I love about the ISSA – they ensure that their trainers always stay current, not only on fundamentals but with the latest industry standards, trends, breakthroughs and innovations as well.

I am a Fitness Writer for Examiner.com and LiveStrong.com which has a combined 22 million monthly readers. Furthermore, I possess a Master’s Degree as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. My background in Psychology has taught me to whole heartedly advocate the development of the body and the mind as one simply because I believe that when the mind fails, the body follows. When you strengthen your mind, it is only then that you can strengthen your body and your life.

My commitment to excellence is sparked by my life long passion for health, wellness, psychology, nutrition & fitness.

The ISSA has been providing personal training certification for more than 20 years. Since 1988, the ISSA has been unconditionally committed to providing the highest quality personal trainer certification programs available and advancing the industry as a whole.

The ISSA was founded by Dr. Sal Aria and Dr. Frederick Hatfield in the 1980’s when no official requirements or standards of physical training had existed. Dr. Aria & Dr. Hatfield recognized the need for standardization and credibility and in doing so they formed the ISSA which merged gym experience with practical and applied sciences for personal fitness training programs.

The ISSA educates their trainers to help others feel better, look better and improve the quality of their lives. Also, they prepare them to help every day people reverse the devastating effects of unhealthy lifestyles.
